Thorbjorn Risager & the Black Tornadoes – Inner Light

Another great tune from this eight person Denmark based group. New album due out in February…can’t wait!
Ruthie Foster – That’s Alright (Live At Sun Studio)
Recorded in the same Sun studio room where Elvis did it in 1956, Ruthie’s bluzin’ version is spot on!!
GA-20 – Cryin’ and Pleadin’
This Boston based group has a new lead singer, Cody Nilsen, who’s voice meshes perfectly with the contemporary blues/roots sound of GA-20.
Blues Plate Special Blues Rock Singles
Joanne Shaw Taylor – I Gotta Stop Letting You Let Me Down
Mhm…the voice, the guitar playin’….Joanne is one of the best!
Ally Venable – Do You Cry

Ally is a Texan and part of the emerging generation of talented twenty something blues and blues rock artists. She has alot of talent and dues to pay!
Hitman Blues Band – Blood Alley
Cool hard driving band out of New York City that show their chops on this great instrumental.
Wily Bo Walker – Down Amongst the Dead Men
Wily Bo Walker has an interesting style and voice. Well worth a listen!
Joe Satriani – Big Bad Moon (Live)
Joe Satriani has always inhabited that ethereal space where the blues and hard rock meld. This cut from the forthcoming G3 reunion with Steve Vai and Eric Johnson is no exception.
Funkwrench Blues – Out of the Frying Pan (ft. Rick Vito)
A funky blues rockin’ instrumental…oh yeah!
Blues Plate Special Roots/Acoustic/Americana Singles
Larkin Poe – Little Bit

Larkin Poe are the consummate crossover duo with both a huge blues and roots following. The new album will be out here in about a month.
Bad Flamingo – Frying Pan
They have an odd and mysterious marketing thing goin’ on but in any case the talent shines through.
Doghouse Sam & his Magnatones – The Other Side
This Belgian group has an interesting sound that defies easy classification but I like it!
