Hot Blues Plate of Singles

Date:

Here is this week’s hot blues plate of singles. The current King of the Blues, Buddy Guy, has a new track. Joe Bonamassa and Warren Haynes offer up some great blues rock. And Taj Mahal takes a cool trip down the bayou! I hope you get a chance to follow the links. And if ya can’t, don’t worry! You should be hearing many of these tunes as the weeks go by from the 37 great DJs here at Blues Music Fan Radio!

Contemporary Blues/R&B/Soul

Buddy Guy – How Blues Is That (ft Joe Walsh)

  • Fast approaching 89, Buddy is still touring and cranking out badass blues!

Taj Mahal – Hey ‘Tite Fille (ft. Keith Frank)

  • Another fabulous octogenarian that is still makin’ albums and touring..oh yeah!

The Vintage Explosion – I Can’t Get Enough of Lovin’ You

  • Scotsman William Hitchell is the living embodiment of Otis Redding. He has one of great R&B/soul voices of his generation!

Steve Silver – Red Hot (ft Duke Robillard)

  • This cover of a song released by Billy Lee Riley in 1957 on Sun Records is awesome!

Mitch Laddie – She Keeps Me Down (ft Will Wilde)

  • Mhmm…a great British bluesman.

Dana Gillespie – Smooth Seas, Rough Seas

  • Dana Gillespie started out in the London music scene in the 1960’s, was part of the original production of Jesus Christ Superstar! and since the 1980’s has largely released chill blues recordings.

Blues Rock/Roots Blues

Joe Bonamassa – Trigger Finger

Warren Haynes – These Changes (ft. Derek Trucks)

Jesse Dayton – Kathleen (ft Ian Moore & Johnny Moeller)

Steve Balbi – No Place We Go (ft Ash Grunwald & Miranda Carey)

Almost the Blues

King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard – Aerodynamic

  • From the Grateful Dead wing of music, this is a nice chill tune.

Left Lane Cruiser – Broke Down Lines

  • Left Lane Cruiser have a great sound that is part blues, part punk, and part rock. Love this song!

Deep Purple – Junkyard Blues (20th Anniversary Remix)

  • I first listened to Deep Purple on a transistor radio I built way back in the day. And they are still sounding great today! In fact, one of my favorite rock recording of 2024 is their latest studio album.
